About Us
Established and financed by a grant from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Community & Economic Development, Plastics SourceNet is a full service resource supporting Pennsylvania’s manufacturing competitiveness in the plastics industry.
Mission
The mission of Plastics SourceNet is simple: To serve the technology and training needs of Pennsylvania’s plastics manufacturers and entrepreneurs. Plastics SourceNet works in partnership with your company to optimize your manufacturing processes, decrease time to market, reduce costs, increase productivity, enhance product development and innovation, provide training to upgrade workforce skills and efficiencies, and recruit qualified personnel.
Plastics SourceNet is available to provide service in the following areas:
Manufacturing Feasibility Study
Product Design, Development, and Enhancement
Plastics Materials Development and Testing
Tooling (Molds and Dies)
Process Development and Optimization
Training and Workshops (On and Off Site)
Resources
The resources of Plastics SourceNet consist of a network of consultants, universities, colleges, and other independent resources coordinated through the efforts of the Plastics Manufacturing Center, located in Williamsport, at Pennsylvania College of Technology, and the Plastics Technology Center, located in Erie at Penn State University’s Behrend campus.
Manufacturers
For established Pennsylvania’s manufacturers, Plastics SourceNet has also partnered with the Industrial Resource Centers, Keystone Innovation Zones, and The Ben Franklin Technology Partners. This network and affiliation provides optimal customer service and resource management.
Entrepreneurs
If you are an innovative entrepreneur or manufacturer, Plastics SourceNet has partnered with the Keystone Innovation Zones and local Small Business Development Centers (SBDC) to help provide services that will implement a new invention, product concept, innovative idea, or new transfer of technology.
Funding
Plastics SourceNet is funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development’s Keystone Innovation Zone initiative.
